Welcome to Cornerstone Chiropractic and Massage!
To: All our family of patients and practice partners
From: Dr. Brian Killian of Cornerstone Chiropractic
There are a lot of scares out there and questions going around about the Coronavirus affecting our world and life.
The first thing I'd like to encourage you to do is just step back and take a breath. We are all in this together and the odds are currently in our favor. There is no other nation in the world I'd rather be in at this time of concern and we can take solace in the fact that our leaders have the best minds working tirelessly at resolving our current state of affairs and getting us back to our "normal" ways of living. Common sense procedures need to take precedence in our lives and if the concerns about all that is going on are becoming a source of stress and anxiety, we need to, at least for a short while, turn off our TV's and other means of gathering frightening information, and refer to the one statement our Lord said most often in all the Bible..."Be not afraid".
With this in mind and knowing that studies have proven that staying in good spinal alignment helps to strengthen the human immune system, we at Cornerstone Chiropractic will be maintaining our normal hours of operation. Having said this, I also want all of you to know, that I and my staff are not living in fear, but are being vigilant in stepping up efforts to ensure the safety of all who enter our doors, by implementing new common sense procedures.
When able and appropriate, we will have a greeter at the door asking just a few pertinent questions to ensure the safety of our patients. If appropriate, from the answers, we may take your temperature.
We will be temporarily removing all magazines, books and the children's coloring station.
The hot and cold drink dispenser will also be temporarily removed.
Every area of concern, especially high traffic areas of touch, will be undergoing vigilant disinfecting procedures.
I will personally disinfect the adjusting table, especially the face cradle and hand cushions, before every adjustment.
We want everyone to rest assured that they can be safe in coming into our office, but if you still have concerns,
We urge those who are sick, experiencing symptoms of illness, at risk of illness, seniors whose age places them in a higher risk category, and those concerned regarding the virus, to postpone your adjustment schedule until such time you feel you are appropriately safe.
In the meantime, here are some facts about the Coronavirus and 10 common-sense tips on staying healthy during this time of increased concern.
Coronavirus is a respiratory illness. Symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. The virus is spread between people through droplets produced in the respiratory tract usually from sneezing or coughing. The virus is also spread through contaminated surfaces or objects. The majority (over 80%) of the cases are mild and many people may never know they are even sick with it. There is a lower risk of mortality in the younger and already healthy people. At the time of this communication, the current number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide is 125,048. At the time of this communication, the current number of people who have passed away worldwide from COVID-19 is 4,613. 10 Common-Sense Tips for Staying Healthy
1) Trust in God (stress suppresses immunity, weakening defenses to infections)
2) Pray daily (grace is real, miracles are real)
3) Wash your hands frequently, at least 20 seconds at a time (the time it takes to pray an Our Father)
4) Practice good hygiene (avoid touching face, mouth, and clean all surfaces)
5) Fist bumps instead of handshakes (fist bumps pass 1/10th the germs of a firm handshake)
6) Get a good night’s sleep (sleep improves overall immune function)
7) Exercise regularly (movement aids the body in staying healthy)
8) Enjoy the outdoors (being outdoors allows the body to relax, supporting health)
9) Eat fruits and veggies (reduce the amount of processed sugar in your diet)
10) Stay informed (continue to keep an eye on what is happening around the world)
Get a Chiropractic Adjustment when able, to strengthen your immune system!
Please join us in praying for those who have died of the Coronavirus, for those who are still sick, for their loved ones and caregivers, and for all the scientists, researchers, and physicians seeking solutions. The Lord is with us, be not afraid!
